Job Description

Registration Service Representative:  
DUTIES: Under the general supervision of the Welcome and Registration Manager, the Registration Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients entering the medical facility. 
Daily duties include: • Greets and checks-in patients using intake procedures, such as completion of healthcare and insurance forms. Updates Electronic Health Record (EHR) as needed at the time of check-in. • Answers incoming telephone calls and verifies general clinic information. • Collects payment for services. • Confirm and update demographics, scrub schedule, and check insurance eligibility. • Makes corrections in the EHR related to demographics and insurance coverage.   • Clearly communicates and provides information to patients regarding eligibility guidelines and services covered by various County, State, and federally funded programs, clinic programs, and service information in person and physically. • Enroll eligible patients into free or low-cost sliding fee discount coverage for medical, dental, or optometry services.  
QUALIFICATIONS: • Possession of high school diploma or its equivalent. • Ability to work under pressure. • Excels at providing a warm rapport and professional telephone and in-person experience. • One year of recent employment related to health care services registration and insurance verification experience is desired. • Experience using the Epic Electronic Practice Management System for patient appointment scheduling and appointment check-in is desired. • Write and speak clearly and effectively. • Fluent in English and Spanish is desired. • Ability to type at least 25 words per minute and experience working with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel. 
OTHER INFORMATION: 1. Attends work regularly and punctually; is readily accessible during work hours to peers; limits absences from own duty stations.   2. Works cooperatively with immediate supervisor, with department members, and with other Council staff persons, as required at Site.3. Treats all patients / clients / visitors with respect and courtesy.4. Be able to speak Spanish (Bilingual) and Provides care appropriate to the age of the patient's/clients/ visitors served.5. During the initial thirty (30) days of employment, it becomes and remains knowledgeable about and in compliance with the Council's and Department policies and procedures in the following areas: a. Confidentiality of patient / client / fellow employee and supplier recordsb. Patient's rights and responsibilities. c. Professional and business ethics. d. Continuous quality and improvement.e. Safety and security of persons and property. f. Infection control. g. Hazardous materials and waste. h. Life safety and emergency preparedness. 6. Maintains a working knowledge about and in continued compliance with all those areas listed under item (5) throughout your employment with the Council.  
Maximum payrate is $22.25 per hour
