Embedded Software Engineer Traffic Division
Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Job Summary
A client of Ryzen Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Embedded Software Engineer for their Traffic Division. This hybrid role is based in Colorado Springs and focuses on developing LED message signs and control systems for the transportation industry. The ideal candidate will work with both bare-metal microcontroller platforms and embedded Linux systems to create high-reliability software for public safety and traffic management.

Key Responsibilities
Software Development & Maintenance: Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware and software using C/C++. This includes developing bare-metal firmware for microcontrollers and integrating Linux-based embedded applications.
Hardware Integration: Work closely with hardware teams to understand schematics and debug hardware/software issues using tools like oscilloscopes and JTAG. A key focus is designing software with long-term reliability and field maintainability in mind.
Standards & Documentation: Ensure compliance with transportation and industry standards. This person will also be responsible for writing and maintaining technical documentation, including software design and test procedures.

Required Qualifications
Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 3+ years of embedded software development experience.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in C and C++ in embedded environments.
Experience with bare-metal microcontroller development (e.g., ARM Cortex-M).
Experience with embedded Linux systems (e.g., kernel modules, device drivers).
Strong debugging skills at both the software and hardware levels.
Knowledge of low-level hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART).
Compensation: The pay for this role is between $110,000 and $140,000 per year.
