Job Summary 
The Software Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution, control and completion of specific software projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.  The Software Project Manager ensures that projects and programs are delivered on time, on budget, and with sufficient value. 
 
This position will report to the Director of Program Management. 
 
Responsibilities  

  • Lead the planning and implementation of software projects supporting product development and sustaining engineering  
  • Facilitate the definition of project goals and deliverables; author project plans  
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements  
  • Assemble and coordinate cross-functional project teams  
  • Manage project budget  
  • Monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders  
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions  
  • Ensure quality assurance as defined in the quality manual  
  • Conduct project evaluations and assessment of results  
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of product development and design control processes  

Education, Experience, Skills  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science; Software Engineering or Computer Science degree preferred  
  • Qualification in project management or equivalent  
  • 3+ years of experience in managing software product development projects  
  • Knowledge of and experience with a variety of software development life cycle models including waterfall and Agile  
  • Proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management and change management  
  • Medical device industry experience preferred
