Job Summary 

Hardware Test Engineering Group has an immediate opening for a Software Project Lead. In this role, you will lead, coordinate and cross-functionally represent, the definition and execution of manufacturing tests, that enable extended stress testing and calibration of the company's current and future embedded product lines and set the benchmark for the quality associated with company products. You must thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong understanding of software fundamentals, background working with systems,  excellent communication skills, and a desire to work with cross-functional teams to develop ground-breaking products. Your contributions will make a pronounced difference to future embedded products.  


As a Software Project Lead you will be working with teams that architect and develop internal drivers, tools and applications running on all of the company's embedded devices for validation of hardware.  You will be setting priorities, managing resources and developing specification documents.  

The team has responsibilities spanning all aspects of product bring-up and test:  

  • Own and update test sequences that are used for Mac product validations 
  • Interacting with Hardware, OS, Test, Operations and various other cross-functional teams throughout the company 
  • Enabling test strategies for new components in upcoming products  
  • Supporting new product development builds locally and remotely  
  • First level of triage for test and software issues 
  • Hands on debugging or coordination of cross-functional debug, as appropriate  
  • Drive issues, track tasks, and evaluate priorities on a daily basis 
  • Driving and enabling process improvement 
  • Work with our engineering team to define, schedule, track, and communicate the status of software features and deliverables to other groups and executive management. 
  • Communicate status to the executive management on a regular basis 

Key Qualifications 

  • Engineering experience: 2-5 years 
  • Program Management experience: 1-5 years 
  • Good understanding of software development 
  • Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles 
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Ability to drive issues, track tasks, and evaluate priorities on a daily basis 
  • Strong EE fundamentals is desired 
  • Wireless experience or knowledge is desired 
  • Manufacturing experience and prior exposure to working with Contract Manufacturers is highly desired 
  • Mac OS X and/or iOS experience is a plus 
  • Unix command line / scripting experience is a plus 


BS Electrical / Computer Engineering or relevant work experience (MS is a plus)
