Job Duties:

•Conduct product design and perform engineering development and testing work on refrigeration projects,

•Create concept and design layouts of complex products or particular systems within a product

•Develop and implement design changes in support of internal cost down initiatives

•Develop and maintain work schedules on assigned projects

•Create and check new drawings and update existing drawings for form, fit, and function. Checks to include BOM, tolerance analysis, material specifications, etc.

•Create, check, update, and load product bills of material in the system per procedure

•Provide design support and analysis for issues arising in manufacturing, purchasing, quality control, and the field

•Ensure commitments on projects are met including cost, schedule, function, performance, serviceability, and appearance

•Ensure that all designs are reviewed for safety considerations and agency requirements

•Assist in developing and improving engineering procedures

•Perform additional assignments and/or duties as assigned by supervisor

•Responsible for several components of a project or a complex component of a larger project

•Contributes to the team / department by applying their knowledge to one or more functional areas

•Fully developed professional able to work without direct guidance or direction from others

•Has in depth knowledge of the discipline and role

 

 

Job Requirements:

•BS degree with a concentration in Engineering or related field and 5+ years related experience or

•Equivalent experience as a Design Engineer (minimum 10 years related experience)

•2D or 3D CAD knowledge, AutoCAD, Solid Works or Pro-E software

•Detail oriented

•Self-starter, able to work with little supervision

•Good communication and interpersonal skills

REFRIGERATION ENGINEER – COMMERCIAL FOODSERVICE REFRIGERATED EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER

 

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Refrigeration Engineer – Mechanical and Systems that is hands-on to expand the commercial refrigeration product lines for a Top Tier Manufacturer of Commercial Foodservice Equipment. The Ideal Candidate with knowledge of glycol refrigeration, extensive knowledge and experience with 3D design software and experience and knowledge with microcontrollers would be a big plus.

 

Description of Duties:

 

Expand and develop existing, custom, and new commercial refrigeration, Ability to develop and manage product development from conception to production.

 

Refrigeration System Design, BS or MS degree. Design Research Experience. Work at Corp HQ, in CA, Be involved in new technology, Get products up to Energy Star Compliance. This is an immediate need. Experience as Refrigeration Engineer, wear many hats, diversified culture - Focus on Future Processes, Define Future Technologies

 

Refrigeration engineering systems experience:

 

Excellent understanding of refrigeration engineering and manufacturing process and operations. Hands on refrigeration manufacturing process experience. Understanding of the Commercial Foodservice Industry Refrigeration Product lines.

 

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, testing equipment procedures and operations.

 

Advance experience and knowledge of applicable testing Protocols and Standards.

Basic knowledge and proficiency of CAD software programs AutoCAD and 3D software.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

BS Degree in Refrigeration Technical or Engineering field (Equivalent Experience Acceptable)

Five years’ experience.

 

Assisting in development of product specifications for Commercial Refrigeration Developing project schedules. Monitoring project performance.

 

Developing test methods to establish or improve product reliability, performance, and manufacturability.

Able to provide detailed calculations of product and related systems.

 

Monitor UL, NSF, Federal and Energy Star Standards and Laboratory Testing

Development of new commercial refrigeration products or new approaches to problems.

 

Modification of existing products to improve costs and performance. Specification of new refrigeration and electrical components.

 

Development of new refrigeration systems to meet customer standards. Development and analysis of laboratory and field test procedures.

 

Communicate well verbally and orally including presentations to staff on project status and product performance.

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor of Science in Engineering Discipline from accredited university (or 7 years minimum related design experience) plus 5 to 12 years product design experience.

General NSF, UL, CSA, IAS, EC safety and performance requirements

Fluid flow R134A and R404A Refrigeration Design
