Essential Responsibilities:

Under supervision:

  • Management of suppliers’ manufacturing processes & issues, including suppliers’ quality management systems

  • Project Management

  • Management of suppliers’ quality scorecards

  • New supplier qualification activities

  • Work with suppliers in development of next-generation products to meet Lam needs

  • Work with Lam Business Units to coordinate Engineering activities between Suppliers and Customers

  • Root cause/corrective action activity management on issues, escalations, excursions

  • In depth understanding and analysis of technical issues, failure modes of electrical systems and sub-assemblies

  • Conduct effective supplier visits – domestic and international – in evaluating and managing new and existing suppliers. Assess production readiness.

  • Ensure suppliers’ manufacturing processes – domestic and international – are in place to produce reliable products in a repeatable manner; develop and audit quality and change control systems. Develop and drive supplier improvement plans.

  • Manage suppliers’, analytical testing and engineering resources to perform failure analysis on products returned from the field.


Education & Experience:

  • Minimum Education: BS/MS degree in a technical field listed in (but not limited to) the following: ChE, Chemistry, Mat Sci 

    • Prefer 5 + years applicable experience specific to quartz/ceramic and manufacturing processes and design

    • Strong project management, organizational and communication skills

    • The ability to read drawings (with understanding of ANSIY14.5) are required

    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with proven history of successful resolution

    • Strong multi-tasking ability to manage a number of projects with high variety or requirements

    • Supplier management and development: Establish and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and their products

    • Work knowledge of Quality Systems – Statistics, DOE, FMEA, RCCA (8D & 5-Whys), problem solving (CQE a plus)


      Software Experience (level of proficiency required):

      • Basic MS Office skills, ERP/SAP skills preferred

      • Statistical software e.g. JMP, MINITAB a plus
