Materials Handler
Scope of Job:

  • To control the receipt, transfer, storage, levels, and shipment of raw materials, supplies, and finished product.
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Properly/accurately receive materials and supplies.
  • Properly/accurately ship materials
  • Continually verify and audit materials/supplies.
  • Materials/supplies are entered into system once received.
  • Ensure ordered materials/supplies are not damaged or defective.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of materials/products.
  • Maintain control over inventory in warehouse.
  • Update and maintain all Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse records.
  • Upkeep of warehouse.
  • Perform physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Kit and stage jobs.
  • Attend all appropriate staff meetings and trainings sessions.
  • Follow all documented procedures and instructions.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of the Quality System.
  • Meet demands without sacrificing quality.
  • Ensure safety techniques are being utilized at all times.
  • Report damages and/or vendor compliance issues.
  • Help identify and solve problems, implement improvements.
  • Actively participate in processing daily workload including unloading, receiving, packing, shipping, loading, etc.
  • Handle and care for delicate, sterile, or perishable materials.
  • Report significant deviations from plans/expectations.
  • Ensure that equipment, tools, and supplies are available, clean, and in good working order.
  • Assist in evaluating current work methods and finding ways to improve processes.
  • Report any performance or procedural related issues on a daily basis.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualification/ Requirements:

  • Prior shipping (UPS/FedEx, Domestic & International), receiving, and warehouse experience desired, 3-5 years preferred.
  • Computer skills: access and maintain system files
  • Excel/Google Sheets. Needs to be able to work with underdeveloped ERP system.
  • Organizational skills: maintain an orderly and organized warehouse that provides efficient access to, and control over, inventory.
  • Maintain acceptable level of attendance.
  • Good judgment in handling/caring for delicate, sterile, or perishable materials.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Understand inventory control, materials and supplies.
  • Flexible Schedule
  • Knowledge of traceability requirements/procedures.
  • Ability to interpret travelers, drawings, and other relevant documentation.
  • Develop product knowledge with minimal training.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have basic knowledge of simple math concepts.
  • Ability to make deliveries for shipping as needed (FedEx/UPS).
  • Team player
  •  Able to lift >35 lbs., go up stairs ~100 times a day or more.
