Our company is looking for a Materials Scientist to participate in the development of the next generation of flat screen

displays—organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). Kateeva is developing new technology to advance OLED

manufacturing efficiency and has assembled a top-notch team of talented, experienced process staff to implement

new manufacturing processes. We are looking for a materials scientist interested in working in a fast paced

environment in Silicon Valley, with expertise in thin film optics, metrology, and materials characterization.



* Optimize characterization activities of OLED devices using various experimental metrology, optical

modeling, and computer simulation techniques

* Perform root cause analysis of fabricated devices using aforementioned techniques to troubleshoot

complex fabrication process, identify defects origin, and propose solution to assist process


* Engage in metrology-related operational activities and trouble-shooting

* Utilize cross-functional resources to perform independent problem solving

* Keep detailed records, summarize findings, and effectively communicate results to project leaders

* Familiarity with process development activity pertaining to Kateeva proprietary printing tools

* Support the development and evaluation of novel processes for next generation products

* Team player, committed to technical integrity and deliver quality results in a timely manner

* Adhere to programs and policies of the Kateeva organization

Skills: Relevant material science and engineering skill sets (See below).


* M.S. or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Chemistry, ideally specialized in a

field related to optoelectronics

* 3+ years industry experience in thin film characterization for flat panel display, semiconductor, drop-on-

demand printing, or OLED process development

* Knowledge with optical modeling, simulation, and chemical characterization of thin films

* Experience with metrology equipment such as laser scanning confocal microscope, interferometer,

ellipsometer, and reflectometer

* Familiarity with materials characterization techniques such as TEM, FIB-SEM, EELS, EDS, XPS

* Self-motivated and willing to learn new things

* Detail and data-oriented approach with good communication skills

* Ability to work under pressure and follow-through assigned tasks with good time management skills
