Job Duties

  • Initial lead contact, qualification and follow-up: Developing the first impression with customer by seeking to understand the customers’ needs while qualifying the business opportunity.
  • University and/or end user technical and sales support: Managing non-OEM order(s) up to $100k.
  • Proactively determining how to progress through the sales process steps: Discovery, qualification, proposal, handling objections, and closing the sale.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency with photonics technology and its applications by passing established exams with an 80% grade.
  • Territory and account management: Manage opportunities up to $100K.
  • Adherence to the company’s quality policy: Quality, Technology and Service are part of all products we make, and we commit to keep improving our quality.

Required Skills

  • BS in Physics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office.
  • Two (2) years working as a customer support in an Applications/ Sales Engineering function with a proven track of solving customer's complex problems, for a company creating custom and standard OEM products. Alternatively, minimum of one year working within the company with Sales Management review and approval.
  • The ability to transport yourself to and from appointments.

Preferred Skills

  • 3 years’ experience in photonics industry.
  • 1 year inside sales experience.
  • 1 year application support for technical OEM sales.
  • Experience with Customer Resource Management Software.
  • Experience with international business development.
  • Experience with Lotus Notes.
