Join us and help put Wi-Fi® in everything from cell phones to TVs, and laptops to routers. The company's Carrier Access team is seeking an IC design engineer to work on our next generation 802.11 medium access controller. You will work on developing the MAC to support the higher bandwidths required by the new standard, and to enhance the feature set to support the growing number of carrier applications that use our Wi-Fi® chips. Your primary job responsibility is the architecture, design, and verification of 802.11 MAC layer designs. In this role you will also interact with the protocol, software, and systems teams at various phase of the design flow.

  • Typically requires a BSCS/BSEE degree and 8 years of related experience, an MSCS/MSEE degree and 6 years of related experience
  • Experience in implementing hardware designs for networking, especially wireless networking protocols ,is required
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and make architectural and design trade-offs for balancing performance/power/area of designs
  • Must have experience with Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL languages and simulation environments
  • Experience with silicon bring-up and debugging lab/ATE/customer issues is required
  • Experience with embedding assertions (SVA or PSL) in RTL designs is desirable, as is experience with logic synthesis and timing analysis flows
  • Knowledge of Perl, Python, TCL or other scripting languages is desirable
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with multiple teams, across geographies, in a dynamic, fast paced development environment
  • Capability to learn new skills or technologies as needed and be self-motivated
