Job Description
The ATLAS team is seeking an HPC / Linux System Administrator who has a passion for technology and a drive to deliver innovative, cutting-edge solutions for our customers. This person should enjoy solving problems, have excellent customer service skills, and display strong initiative.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Management of HPC cluster software and hardware
  • Escalation contact for HPC and license issues
  • Troubleshooting advanced Linux issues
  • Setup and maintain license servers
  • Design and build new systems based on customer requirements
  • Work with corporate IT and Security teams to ensure compliance
  • Basic VMware vSphere administration
  • Strong ability to communicate with team members and customers
  • Strong working knowledge of server hardware
  • Strong experience with Linux OS, specifically RHEL 6 and 7
  • Proficient in at least one scripting language
  • Ability to develop solutions in highly complex environments involving global sites
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment and execute flawlessly in stressful situations
  • Optimize Linux kernel on both physical and virtual servers
A preferred candidate should be familiar with the following:
  • Job Schedulers such as LSF, PBS, or SLURM
  • Mellanox Infiniband
  • L2 and L3 Networking
  • Managing and configuring HPE servers
  • Engineering applications such as Abaqus and ANSYS
  • License servers such as FlexLM, RLM, and LM-X
  • Binding Linux servers to an AD domain
  • Basic Windows Server administration tasks (including Active Directory & DNS)
Minimum Requirements
  • Requires 5+ years of experience in Linux System Administration
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in HPC Administration and Support
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT related field or equivalent experience
  • Related technology certification preferred
