The Electrical Engineer IV position reports to the Sr. Manager of Electrical Engineering and requires strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates schematics, components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission and storage of electricity 
  • Analyzes equipment to establish operating constrains, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results 
  • Collaborate with systems, software, electrical and mechanical engineers to develop and implement hardware/ firmware requirements 
  • Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability 
  • Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance  

  

Mandatory Qualifications: 

  • Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited BSEE or MSEE university program  
  • 5-8 years of direct experience in electrical engineering principles  
  • 3-5 years of direct experience in the semiconductor capital equipment industry 
  • Strong working knowledge of DeviceNet and EtherCAT bus system with PLCs 
  • Robust knowledge of motion controls, close-loop temperature controls 
  • Strong Knowledge and proficiency in electrical engineering and operation of devices and sensors such as:  thermocouples, electric actuators, motors, heaters, pressure sensors, pressure controllers, flow controllers 
  • Hands-on experience in electronic circuit design (analog, digital), development, troubleshooting and validation 
  • Strong ability to manage tasks and projects independently with extreme urgency 
  • Proficient with basic computer programs: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio 
  • Experience with CAD programs: EPLAN and/or AutoCAD or other schematic capture software 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required 
  • Capability to work effectively in a team environment 
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally about 5% of the time 

 

Highly Desired Qualifications: 

  • Hands on experience with Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley, Pilz automation PLC 
  • Expert level troubleshooting of complex electro-mechanical systems 
  • Good understanding of the safety requirements/ regulatory compliance (e.g. SEMI S2, S14, S22, NFPA79, EMI/ EMC etc.)  
  • Interest and experience in power distribution and control system design of complex systems (such as unmanned vehicle, drones, robotic systems or similar machines)  
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills 
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines 
  • Experience with LabView, C, C++, Python, etc, TeamCenter, NX, ProE, SMARTSHEET 
  • Working experience with teams located offshore (India, Korea, Taiwan, etc.)
