Job Summary 

The company’s Contract Management team is seeking a talented Contracts Manager to join us in our journey to provide exceptional CM services in support of company’s R&D programs throughout the contract lifecycle - from capture to closure.   

Knowledge/Experience Areas:   

This company has a wide variety of scientific programs across Federal and some state agencies, so the ideal candidate should have a broad knowledge and experience base with various government agencies and regulations, and a demonstrated aptitude and resilience to learn and broaden perspective rapidly.  Experience in the following areas is very important: 

  • Federal Regulations relative to DoD, DOE, NIH, and NSF such as the FAR, DFAR, DEAR, and DoDGers, and other applicable CFRs. 
  • Export Compliance Regulations:  EAR/ITAR 
  • Negotiation and experience managing Federal Cooperative Agreements, Procurement Contracts, Grants for Research and Development Programs, and Commercial Contracts with Cost Reimbursable and Fixed Price type contracts 
  • Subcontract negotiations with Small and Large Companies, and Universities.   

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of Contract Management experience showing increased complexity and responsibility in CM 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business or relevant field 
  • JD from an accredited law school preferred 
  • CM Certification is a plus 
  • Strategic/Analytical/Detail Oriented 
  • Proficient in Sharepoint, Excel, Word, Search Platforms    
  • Knowledge of Contract and IP law 
  • Working knowledge of finance and accounting principles 
  • Honed communication and analytical skills, with an emphasis on creative and critical thinking 
  • An ability to lead teams but also collaborate with them 
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and negotiation skills 
  • Working independently and efficiently, meeting deadlines, prioritizing workflow and adjusting to frequent workload fluctuations 
  • Reliable interpretation of contracts, and an advanced proven level of strategic thinking and problem solving
