Our company. is seeking a driven Unix Systems Administrator to help support the Production team participating in various functions of Techops, working with engineering, building servers and more! We are looking for fun, energetic candidates, who have a passion for building great architecture and bringing our games to life.  So, if you think you have the chops to deliver something unique come talk to us! 

Responsibilities:

  • Install configure Centos5/7 flavors of linux on Dell branded hardware.
  • Be able to write scripts to automate tasks. Bash scripting is required, perl, python, and php a bonus.
  • Able to understand protocols of HTTP/S, FTP, DNS, SMTP, and SSH.
  • Track and update requests and progress in bugzilla ticketing system.
  • Able to maintain and configure LAMP stack from source or rpms.
  • Maintain and configure ganglia and icinga for monitoring hosts in all environments.
  • Maintain proactive after hours and on-call response of techops team.
  • Produce well written documentation in ops wiki for projects worked on.
  • Rack/mount server hardware as needed at the DC. Ensure optimal cabling and labeling methods for long runs.
  • Replace server drives with different failure scenarios. Follow documentation as needed.
  • Grow current skillset learning/Enhancing Storm8 technologies and inbuilt tools.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Requires a BS in engineering or computer Science.
  • 2+ years as unix systems administrator using unix system V.
  • Must be fluent in navigating and administrating the Unix Operating System.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills required.
  • OSX experience is required.
  • User level familiarity with common desktop software such as Microsoft Office, Gmail, web browsers, etc.
  • Working knowledge with transport layer protocols such as TCP/UDP.
  • Understanding of networking tools - should know how to use telnet, ping, and wireshark to troubleshoot basic network issues.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills. Able to navigate using process of elimination finding the root cause.
  • Understanding of server technology – different types of hardware, RAID arrays.
  • Must have effective time management skills. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and assignments at once through the department ticketing system.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • High productivity is a must. Be able to give quick turn around for user and infrastructure requests.
  • Excellent people skills a must.  Be able to work in a team.
