ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
 
Provides expertise in manufacturing processes for machined metal and plastic components as well as for brittle materials (quartz, ceramic, etc.).
Provides Design-For-Manufacturing inputs to design engineers for machining components.
Ensures suppliers' manufacturing processes are in place to produce reliable products in a repeatable manner; develops and audits quality control systems.
Conduct supplier process audits and drive closure on improvement actions.
Manages suppliers and analytical labs to perform failure analyses of parts failed in the field.
Coordinates development activities with suppliers and product groups in developing products to meet product groups' needs.
Conducts supplier assessments (with emphasis on manufacturing capabilities and quality management systems) of new and existing suppliers.
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
 
Minimum 5 years experience in the semiconductor capital equipment field or related.
Experience in or knowledge of standard fabrication practices of metals and plastics as well as brittle materials and ability to read drawings (with understanding of ANSIY14.5) are required.
Working knowledge of SPC and FMEA is preferred.
BS/MS degree in a technical field listed in (but not limited to) the following: IE, ME, ChE, Chemistry, Mat Sci.
Strong problem solving, project management, and communication skills.
Able to travel as much as 10% of the time – both domestic and international.
