Our company is currently seeking an exceptional individual to manage logistics and materials operations. This individual is required to develop and deploy best-in-class processes to drive successful transition to full commercialization. This is a high profile role within the company and requires a candidate with deep competence in logistics, materials and inventory control processes. The individual will work with the operations team to develop and drive major initiatives in logistics efficiency and inventory management, as well as develop strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. The position reports to the Senior Director of Materials.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage logistics operations including 3PL providers, transportation and distribution systems, and procedures to ensure efficient and economical delivery of the organization's products and tools
• Monitor transportation costs to ensure low cost with high service levels; negotiate contracts/rates for shipment, storage and distribution of product (both international and domestic)
• Ensure compliance to Export Administration Regulations and all US and international trade regulations
• Develop and maintains processes and documents structure required for compliance with U.S. and international customs agencies, laws and regulations
• Work with the field service organization to develop and implement spares inventory, depot management, and fulfillment processes
• Manage all inventory for production systems and service spares; work with the procurement team to ensure material availability to meet the install plan
• Responsible for inventory controls and material accuracy
• Support system installations, and Materials requests from the installation & service teams
• Establish and measure KPIs, applies statistical methods and drives performance for on-time delivery, shipping, warehouse inventory management, and product quality
• Investigate root cause for problem reconciliation and lead corrective action for complaints related to last minute configuration, transportation, logistics handling and warehousing of finished product • Work closely with the supply chain, engineering, and NPI teams to ensure full readiness for design modifications and new product launches Desired Skills and Experience
• Experience managing import/export compliance, ocean & air freight, forwarders, consolidators, brokers, and domestic transportation carriers
• Demonstrated proficiency working with U.S. Customs Brokers,
• Competence and experience in international logistics operations and trade regulations (including ITAR, ACE, EAR, and OFAC)
• Experience setting up and managing third party logistics providers, multiple inventory locations and spare parts depots
• Expert level materials planning and controls process knowledge
• Experience in deployment of MRP systems highly desired
• Excellent negotiations skills
• Strong leadership skills and proven track record of building successful teams 2
• Good business acumen and analytical mindset; able to comprehend financial models of the business and able to think and act strategically in the interests of the whole business
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years progressive leadership growth in materials and logistics operations
• Experience within a medical capital equipment company environment is strongly preferred
• Must have experience working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
• Experience working in an FDA regulated environment is strongly preferred
