DESCRIPTION

Be part of a revolution! Our company is redefining the listening experience for music. The Mechanical Analysis and

Technology Team at our company is at the center of solving thermal, structural and materials related challenges in

support of product design teams. We are seeking individuals who have a crazy attention to detail, excited about

clever engineering designs, curious about why things work (or don’t) and want to make amazing products.  Have

fun every day on this fast paced, creative team and help our company reach the next level in product innovation. If you

love music, solving challenging problems and doing things the right way every time, we’d like to talk to you!

RESPONSIBILITIES

This analysis engineer will own and drive analysis of cutting edge designs, enabling early optimization prior to

prototyping as well as root cause and failure analysis of difficult mechanical/thermal problems.

* Generate analytical and FEA models of mechanical parts, modules, and assemblies in support of product

development beginning at architectural phase through final design.

* Perform static, dynamic (vibration, drop/shock), non-linear structural and thermal-mechanical analysis.

* Lead and manage test efforts to measure product response to static and dynamic loads using strain

gages, accelerometers, DAQ’s, etc.

* Perform parameterized design studies and optimizations to illuminate the design space. Present results

and trends in a form digestible by cross-functional team members and project management.

* Own and drive material characterization and testing to support modeling efforts. Publish material

properties into in-house database.

* Drive failure analysis, root cause efforts, and design of experiments to resolve difficult problems.

* Advance team capabilities by constantly acquiring new skills and exploring and using features in software

tools.

* Generate applicable engineering specifications and create processes to assure consistent early analysis

and design validation of critical issues.

* Generate thermal models of PCBs and speaker assemblies to quantify temperature distribution then

design and optimize thermal solutions.

* Work closely with thermal test teams to correlate and validate simulation model.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* A minimum of an MS degree in mechanical engineering.

* 8+ years work experience in advanced FEM analysis in a multi-disciplinary field (electro-mechanical) using

software tools such as ANSYS Mechanical, IcePak, FloTherm, etc.

* Applied knowledge/experience with flex circuits, printed circuit boards, solder, adhesives, material

science and basic chemistry.

* Ability to dissect complex problems into fundamental principles.

* Ability to multi-task, work quickly, accurately and communicate effectively with team members.
