For this position you must be at the level of a senior technologist with strong analysis and design skills. You will be

a lead technical resource in all areas of mechanical product design such as thermal, structural, manufacturability,

serviceability and reliability. You must be well versed in the core mechanical engineering analytical skills in order

to affect system level decisions and represent the team at cross-functional reviews. Your ability to productize

designs in conjunction with cross-functional input from ID, Acoustics, Electrical, RF and manufacturing is also


Minimum Qualification:

* BS degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering

* 10+ years work experience in product development in consumer electronics

* Extensive experience in designing complex electro-mechanical assemblies with an expert understanding of

mechanical tolerances and ability to perform detailed tolerance loop analysis.

* Proficiency with Pro/E Creo, Seimens NX or Solidworks CAD with demonstrated track record of product design methods. * Ability to architect solutions backed by business case analysis * Excellent working knowledge of mechanical engineering and design principles with specific expertise in the areas of design for high to medium volume production, injection molding, castings, heat extraction, and surface finishing. * Knowledgeable about tooling process for concept, development and mass production. * Experience solving component fabrication issues in cooperation with Tier 1 manufacturer and/or suppliers. * Familiarity with MRP/ERP documentation management system and BOM / specification creation. * Experience developing Design of Experiments to evaluate and determine design directions. * Experience developing mechanical function, environmental stress and accelerated life tests to evaluate product performance. * Experience dealing with compliance and reliability issues. * Ability to multi-task, work quickly, accurately and communicate effectively with team members.. * Experience creating complete design/documentation packages for production. * Ability to work in a team setting to carry a design from concept to manufacturing and execute at a high quality bar. * A Talent for troubleshooting design issues as they arise. * Ability to develop prototype models in order to evaluate new concepts and reduce risk. * Works independently and as part of a team. * Fluency in both written and oral English. * Ability to prepare clear and concise written reports and presentations. * Able to organize design reviews and lead technical discussions. * Ability to travel approximately 30% annually (sometimes with little notice) * Manufacturing experience in volume production including familiarity with statistical process control * People management experience Preferred Qualifications: * MS degree in Mechanical Engineering * Familiarity with Acoustic driver design practices and cabinetry. * Familiar with structural and thermal analysis techniques for small to large electronics packaging systems. * Fluency in Mandarin Chinese a plus Key Characteristics: * Consummate owner of the mechanical architecture and execution of the design * Mechanical technology and process guru * Likes being in the center of the storm * Enjoys multi-tasking with pride * Fast on computers and applications.
