Job Description

As a key contributor in a small startup team environment, this very broad role will participate in the definition of the system architecture; design analog and digital circuits/systems to meet project goals; sustain/improve existing electronic systems; author the required supporting design control processes and requirements; coordinate with cross functional resources for the successful timely development and commercialization of novel patient monitoring medical device technology. 


  • Perform complex engineering assignments, applying intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices (for example, comprehensive circuit analysis and design) in broad areas of assignments (analog and digital) and related fields (software and microcontroller development)  
  • Independently makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, to support the organization’s goals while maintaining schedule and coordination with cross functional team members  
  • Develop new or improved techniques and procedures to achieve efficient designs and processes to meet company objectives  
  • Author specifications, requirements, FMEA, verification and validation documentation in compliance with design control  
  • Assist in formal verification activities, and in software and electrical system test and troubleshooting. 
  • Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products, or equipment when necessary data is insufficient for confirmation. 
  • Acquire adequate engineering knowledge, and principles, of RF portion of business in order to effectively sustain (modify) existing designs 
  • In cooperation with cross functional team members, define embedded system architecture including selection of microprocessors, peripherals, and communications architecture. 
  • Support Manufacturing and Service with processes, troubleshooting, defect analysis, and issues tracking 


  • M.S. Electronic Engineering degree or B.S. and equivalent experience 
  • 15 years of analog and digital electronic engineering design and product development 
  • 10 years of recent medical device development experience 
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in embedded environments; proficiency in C/C++ programming is preferable 
  • Competency in CAD software for electronic capture, analysis, and layout; ideally Altium 
  • RF experience for both transmission and reception is preferable 
  • Experience with microchip microcontrollers and low-power devices is preferable 

While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to use a computer for up to 8-hours. Job functions also include use of hand tools, and ability to lift up to 40-lbs.
