Marketing Manager
Job Description
With minimal supervision, performs daily planning and outreach to existing customers and future potential customers in an effort to drive New Product Introduction (NPI) or expanded existing customer products into/through EMPS. Responsible for the development and design of marketing plans, business models, pricing models and general advertising programs to raise market awareness of EMPS Service & product offerings. This includes digital marketing programs, Web-site creation and evolution, as well as e-mail campaigns and direct-mail campaigns for new business. Periodic in-person outreach to existing customers through site visits, invitations to trade-shows for strategic meetings, and on-site in-person visits. Coordination of new business development with the NPI / RA Manager for new service work generated in the marketplace for which EMPS shall be responsible. Processing of both digital ‘on-boarding’ documentation and paperwork related to incoming customer projects, supply-chain data and materials, customer product, fixtures, equipment related to NPI. Routine use of spreadsheets, e-mail programs, artwork and photo rendering programs and word-processing programs to perform customer updates during NPI phases of completion, and account notations for correct and accurate invoicing of existing and new customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform existing and new customer outreach for new business development/ status check / wellness checks
2. Assist in placing new business MOU’s, MSA’s and similar service contracts with new customers as part of NPI efforts
3. Coordinate and schedule NPI pipeline demand with existing production by coordinating with the EMPS Production Manager
4. Work with outside design, artwork, and creative firms such as: Fiverr, Design-Crowd, Guru.com, Upwork.com, etc. to establish and maintain artwork development staff for advertising efforts and new advertising campaigns
5. Provide Marketing support of EMPS strategic plans for its current efforts within EMPS-Packaging, GSM, and PATH program(s) as needed and directed by CEO of Company
6. Work to close on new business and develop new potential markets that are in diverse medical device space sectors such as Oncology, IVD, pre-filled drug delivery, bulk drug transport sterilization, catheter devices, and ophthalmological sectors.
7. Be aware of current production capacity limitations and elasticity to adequately gage NPI injections into regular production calendar
8. Provide GM with Marketing plans / needs / budgets for individual new marketing campaigns and or repetitive advertisement in trade-publications
9. Provide quarterly summaries for inclusion in company-wide meetings of current marketing efforts, success metrics and overall results of NPI efforts
10. Perform trade-show scheduling, event staff coordination, reservations, and venue identification for company personnel attending such events
11. Help in identifying and outreach to industry potential partners for expanded visibility of EMPS offerings and synergistic services that can lead to sector diversification in customer base, expanded base-business, and new business
12. Develop potential customer recruitment plans that promote EMPS service offerings, augmenting new customer induction programs / discounts / specials / limited time offers, etc.
13. Parodically Assist the production staff in routine production operations of packaging and assembly, with an eye toward identifying process improvements, that can improve EMPS overall margins
14. Maintain good quote production work flow to satisfy potential customer’s expected response-time(s) / timely manner of response, establishing EMPS as a ‘Responsive’ potential manufacturing partner
15. Evaluate ongoing / current marketing and advertising campaigns for effectiveness and potential swap-out for alternatives that may yield higher levels of customer inquiry or awareness as part of market expansion efforts
16. Maintain good work ethics and foster good work ethics in others
17. Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Contractors for IT-Web based programming for web-site development, artists, digital artists, and copy drafters for new marketing materials development.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Light work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
· Must be able to review printed materials.
· Good / Correctable vision.
· Good manual dexterity.
· Ability to sit and /or stand for long periods of time.
· Must be able to use common office equipment (e.g. calculator, PC, telephone, etc.).
· Must be vaccinated against Covid-19 for travel and customer-site entry purposes.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal in at least the English language; competency in French, Spanish, Italian, German, Japanese are also desirable.

· Complex understanding of how to initiate procedure changes
· Ability to comprehend color-pallette development and style-guide development for coherent marketing material messaging

· Able to understand FDA Quality System Regulations, ISO and MDD requirements, as applicable to Marketing work
· Able to discern when Quality support is needed within the Marketing organization

SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Open, level-headed and Communicative approach to Customers with

· Intermediate understanding of how device manufacturing, assembly, test, and sterilization gets done
· Computer Skills in MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Artwork rendering programs (Adobe, Corel, etc.)
· Proficiency with assembling and carrying out mass e-mail, direct-mail and targeted advertising / marketing campaigns
· Basic ability to read engineering drawings and exploded-view schematics of product configurations to understand the “what” of customer-intent for packaging design
· Exceptional communication and organizational skills
· Intermediate understanding of account billing, invoicing and payment collections
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· 5-7 years related experience working with service-oriented business in the areas of Advertising, Marketing, Customer Relations, Customer Service, or similar customer-facing discipline.
· Experience in establishing marketing outreach programs, pricing models, service models and/or similar work-process definitions.
· Entry-level experience and knowledge of standards (ASTM, ASME, SAE, etc.).
· Intermediate Knowledge of how written procedures are generated (English required)
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:
· BA Degree from a 4-year accredited institution in the areas of:
· Marketing, OR
· Business / Management, OR
· Operations Theory, OR
· Similar Humanities or STEM related field
· Advanced degrees in Business (MBA) or similar are a plus
