The Advanced Manufacturing Equipment Engineer assists indesigning, planning and implementing manufacturing systems and equipment for bringing new technology into the market.


Responsibilities wilinclude:

  • Proficient in reviewing manufacturing processes, conceptualizing improved equipment and processes, and defining requirements.

  • Assist in designing equipment, quoting equipment, deploying equipment, validating equipment and trouble-shooting equipment post deployment.

  • Perform DOE-type engineering and optimization studies.

  • Create and perform process validation tasks related to new products and processes (IQ, OQ, PQ).

  • Evaluate processes to identify areas to improve quality, cost efficiency and employee safety.

  • Knowledge of FDA regulated medical device product manufacturing process; experience with introduction of new products, and development of new manufacturing processes.

  • Thorough understanding of FDA, GSR, and cGMP requirements.


  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience (preferably in the medical device industry)

  • PLCs: Understanding of ladder logic programming and ability to connect to PLC and navigate programming software.

  • Motors and Drives: Understanding of AC and DC motors and servo systems.

  • Electrical Skills: Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and read electrical prints. Ability to wire industrial control systems including 480V/120V/24V power, drives, motors, I/O and sensors.

  • Robotics: Basic understanding of FANUC or similar robot operation, basic programming, understanding of I/O and interfacing, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience.

  • Networking: Understanding of Ethernet cabling and addressing, DeviceNet, RIO, and wireless PC networking.

  • MMI's: Understanding of basic concepts, familiar with PanelView Plus and PanelView hardware.

  • Vision Systems: Ability to design, diagnose, and troubleshoot vision applications.


  • Must be able to follow established policies and procedures and comply with regulatory requirements.

  • Must have strong project management skills.

  • Must be hands-on, results-oriented, who is a strong team player, excellent communicator, and comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment.

  • Must have the ability to recognize problems, recommend and implement solutions.

  • Must be well organized and possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently.

  • Must be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, start-up environment.

  • Must have the ability and desire to be proactive not just reactive; a questioning mindset. 


  • BS in Engineering is preferred and/ or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years in equipment/manufacturing engineering of medical device products ideally with both, start up and large company experience.
