  1. Analog and digital circuit design experience including application of microcontrollers, A/D converters, D/A converters, operational amplifiers, interface circuits, switching regulators, and power electronics.

  2. Ability to program microcontroller code in both assembly language and C using PC based compilers such as Code Warrior. Experience with older Motorola / Freescale microcontrollers (68HC11, 68HC12, 9S12) and current NXP Kinetis processors including hardware design, programming, and firmware debugging.

  3. Familiarity with PC based schematic capture software. Knowledge of, for example, legacy DOS Orcad, Orcad for Windows, PCB 123, National Instruments Circuit Design Suite, and NXP Kinetic Design Studio schematic software.

  4. Knowledge of various communication protocols such as RS232, RS485, Modbus, USB, ARINC, Ethernet, etc.

  5. Understanding of circuit noise and EMC fundamentals. Ability to design circuits and layout PCBs to minimize noise and electromagnetic emissions and susceptibility. PCB layout experience using, for example, Tango PCB layout software would be a plus but is not required.

  6. Proficiency in the use of lab equipment for test and debugging, including oscilloscopes, voltmeters, signal generators, and power supplies. Experience in programming and maintaining PC based C programs for product testing. Legacy DOS experience a plus.

  7. Comfort with documentation and inventory control software.
