Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in and conduct activities associated with new product development as it pertains to design, documentation, and manufacturing and test support, to include engineering analysis, product design, drawing preparation, cost estimation, and product planning, as well as support of business development (marketing) activities. 
  • Provide leadership in and conduct activities associated with support of existing product manufacturing efforts as it pertains to design, documentation, and general support of inspection processes, manufacturing processes and test processes and cost reduction activities to include engineering analysis, product design, and drawing preparation. 
  • Provide technical support and guidance (mentoring) to junior engineers, to include review and critique of design documentation, development plans, test plans, and test results.
  • Provide leadership of failure investigation activities through application of rigorous root cause analysis.
  • Provide project support of Internal Research and Development (IRAD) activities, as well as providing engineering leadership and conducting design engineering tasks related to those activities.
  • Assist in design and development of automated test equipment.
  • Provide support and expertise in development of manufacturing, inspection, and test related process procedures.
  • Prepare reports and presentations related to design and development activities, including technical proposal submittals, test plans and reports.
  • Support kaizen-related process improvement activities.


  •  Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering discipline; Advanced degree a plus.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in electronics design-related engineering position.
  • Experience developing and integrating electronic assemblies into product designs preferred.  This includes leveraging the entire value chain from supplier through final factory manufacturing operations. 
  • Experience with DOE, FMEA, PFMEA, Six sigma or similar analysis tools.
  • Experience with government specifications and industry standards related to safety critical electronics systems a plus.
  • Experience in more than one Electrical Engineering concentration a plus, such as Digital, Firmware, and software.
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Project and Visio preferred.
  • Advanced skill level in Orcad Schematic Capture preferred.
  • Advanced skill level in digital simulation and analysis. 
  • Demonstrated ability to apply mathematics, science, and technology in product design and complex problem solving
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
