This role is instrumental in designing and delivering qPCR Consumer & Business related applications that will help to propel Life Technologies qPCR products into the internet & mobile space, make Life content accessible to more devices, integrate with key partners in the cloud, and allow Life Technologies qPCR services to scale with rapid growth in users.

 Additionally, this position will require the candidate to

§  Provide “hands on” technical leadership of Life’s qPCR web platform including architectural vision, Design and development of solutions.

§ 4+ years experience and deep expertise in Amazon’s or ANY cloud computing offerings

§  Participate in the full life-cycle development process from definition, through design, build, test, release and maintenance.

§  Work with our business partners to envision opportunities and technical solutions which align with organizational strategies and architecture principles.

§  Create technical designs, specifications, and integration tests.

§  Research and track advancements in online & mobile channels.

§  Develop mobile or web prototypes to validate architecture and design decisions, validate performance, scalability & security, and thereby improving the speed to market

§  Research and evaluate vendor solutions, frameworks, evolving technologies, standards, and understand potential impact on current or future solutions

Technical Skills:

§  15 years Java/J2EE industry experience

§  4 years of Cloud Development experience (AWS/Google Cloud etc.)

§  Experience with LAMP Stack, Derby,  MySQL, Postgress, MongoDB, DynamoDB, MemSQL

§  Experience with MemCache or Redis s a plus

§  8 years MVC Framework experience: Struts2, Spring &  MVC or similar

§  Strong Web 2.0 experience essential, including use of OO Javascript, AJAX, DHTML and JS libraries (eg ExtJs /jQuery/DOJO/ etc)

§  HTML 5, CSS, strong understanding of browser compatibility issues.

§  XML, XSL, processing/parsing.

§  Candidate must have strong structured methodology experience

§  Strong J2EE/OO Design patterns experience

§  Experience with implementing common design patterns

§  Web Service design experience: SOAP Request/Response handling, authentication, Axis2.

§  Use of Unified Modeling Language (UML) to conceive a design

§  Knowledge of web security standards and how to apply them

§  Experience with large scale, high volume web-based applications.

§  Minimum qualification: M.S /Ph.D in Computer Science with 10 years industry experience
