Autonomous Vehicle Readiness Specialist 

As an Autonomous Vehicle Readiness Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our Autonomous 
Vehicle Fleet is “Autonomy” ready. You’ll be at the frontlines as a “Pit Crew” member responsible for 
ensuring our vehicles are ready to be deployed for daily missions and development. 

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with R&D Operations teams to ensure AV fleet is online and fully capable of 
    Autonomy Missions. 
  • Inspect Self-driving System components, including sensors, modules, and integrated sensor 
  • Perform daily vehicle safety inspections 
  • Perform vehicle sensor calibrations and firmware/software upgrades 
  • Assist AV Technicians and Engineers as needed 
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose failures with the autonomy system running on the vehicle with 
    Technicians and Engineers 
  • Collaborate with AV Technicians and Engineers to improve our processes 
  • Run scripts in Linux operating systems to test components and determine current issues. 
  • Record all repair work through excellent documentation practices 
  • Create detailed write ups about issues for our Engineering and Operations team 
  • Clearly communicate with team members and management 
  • Working independently to quickly overcome challenges without supervision 
  • Maintain cleanliness of AV fleet and sensor components 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • BA/BS or 6 years of experience in automotive repair/testing or equivalent in similar technical field 
    in lieu of a degree 
  • Experience in isolating, documenting, and tracking issues systematically 
  • Experience running scripts and working with Linux based systems 
  • Experience working in a workshop/autolab environment 
  • Detailed oriented and process driven 
  • Clean driving record 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience working in a technology startup environment 
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical field 
  • Knowledgeable of modern vehicle automotive electronics and diagnostic procedures
